Danish Centre for Design Research
Established in February 2025 to strengthen cooperation and recognition of Danish design research.
The Danish Centre for Design Research (DCDR) was established in February 2025 to strengthen cooperation and recognition of Danish design research initiatives. Its mission focuses on coordinating research efforts across multiple institutions to address significant challenges through design.
Design research combines methods from the social sciences, humanities, and engineering to address contemporary challenges such as climate change, large IT systems, increasing social insecurity, unsustainable manufacturing, architecture, and transformations in the care and healthcare sectors.
The centre incorporates representatives from ten universities and welcomes independent researchers from various organisations.
