Representative Council
The representative body meets once to twice yearly to plan the centre’s upcoming activities. Ad hoc working groups can be established between meetings to ensure the progress of planned activities.
Board
The board directs the day-to-day management of the centre. The board is responsible for representing or delegating representation in national (e.g., consultations and collaborations) and international contexts (e.g., Design Research Society and IASDR). It also plans the representative body’s annual meetings and seeks funding for the centre’s operations.
Design research is a genre of research that combines the social sciences, humanities, and engineering. It can develop methods to understand the world in a new light and create concrete proposals for alternative possible futures. Design research is key to remaking and rethinking many of the challenges Denmark and the world face, such as climate change, increasing social insecurity, unsustainable production and architecture, and transformations in the care and healthcare sectors.
