Design of health and care technologies
akav@itu.dkAbout
I am a Professor of Design Research at the IT University of Copenhagen, where I head the HCI & Design section. My work sits at the intersection of design practice, ethics, and the material expression of technology. Through my research, I study how we can design alternative possible futures with stronger ethical and ecological commitments. This drives three interconnected areas of inquiry: critical practices for interaction design, ethically responsible care technologies, and the relationship between aesthetics and attunement. Through an exploratory design practice, I create artifacts that challenge what we can and should expect from the technologies we live with, particularly in the intimate contexts of health, body, and everyday life.
